1st birthday

Sometimes this job can be so dangerous! How can a sweet babe like this be dangerous? Well, I can occasionally get this tug in my chest that takes my breathe away - kind of like having the wind knocked out of you, but more pleasant. I am a cuddle SUCKER and this sweet little one's hug stirred up a longing for another. Ha!

Happy birthday baby L - you gave me a present just spending the morning with you.

seasons

It is such a busy season in my life right now. It is often helpful for me to remember that it is a just season and these seasons go by all to quickly. I am really feeling that with one that has begun her senior year. We are dearly missing our little B around here. My heart pines to be with her.

I know it seems silly to express again, BUT I will anyway : )

We simply love you beyond words and are so blessed with the opportunity the lord has given us to watch you grow. You and your incredible aunts remind me to breathe deep and give thanks in all seasons!

A great family event - this Saturday!

Just bumping this in case anyone wants to come run. Late registration is Sat. morning at 7 am. Race starts at 8 with an ALL YOU CAN EAT PANCAKE BREAKFAST within just a few feet of the finish line... that is my kind of race!

I am SO excited to post this! Months of prep work went into this event! It is such a neat feeling to see things coming together. So.... mark your calendars for RUN FOR YOUTH, a family-friendly 5K-10K run/walk held over Labor Day weekend in conjunction with De Soto Days. All proceeds go to support DeSoto Youth Ministries, a vital community resource.

There will also be a pancake breakfast, parade, and carnival activities will be a the nearby Riverfest park.

last days of summer

I am still here - just taking in the last few days of summer. It won't be long before our nature study won't include flying insects. Right now we have a (live) butterfly as our kitchen table centerpiece enjoying fresh cut flowers and fruit. It broke of a portion of its wing in the storm a few nights ago and was rescued by one of our poor-creature saving girls. I love the outdoors and the wonder in the girl's eyes as they learn more about God's amazing creation.

Our first session on the farm

Here is a glimpse from our first photo session at the farm. It is such a pleasure to take this little one's pictures. She is two now and on the GO.... that means healthy and we praise God for that! Hope you enjoy these pictures momma that you worked so hard to get! : ) The rest are coming soon.

Oh, and the ending shot.... that is my trusty partner. I should just call her 'Quick Draw McGraw' with those amazing chase 'em down and shoot 'em skills. Way to go, cow poke!!
