Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... I will be taking a break to celebrate this season (and snow) with my family. I am normally finished with everything by Thanksgiving but this year that just did not happen. We have felt so busy and rushed that just taking time for our family devotions has been difficult. I am learning that it may not all get done but I will celebrate in what did.... that is a big push for a semi-perfectionist. For those of you wondering, still no arrival from our grand baby "B" but I talked with them this morning and they are enjoying their time off together while patiently awaiting her arrival. From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with His blessings.

puppies -n- pj's
I have been burning the midnight oil, cranking out the Christmas cards, and am now trying to catch back up with my posts. 2008 photo sessions are officially over and I owe many thanks for the encouragement I have gotten this year. I am so blessed to have friends that are excellent photographers to learn from and dialog with (Thanks K & D) and the best clients in the world!

I am so excited to team up with Crazy Daisy D-zine by Lauren to offer these sterling silver, lead free, glass necklaces. Keepsake ornaments, hung from ribbon, are also available. These both make a wonderful gift and all you do is provide your favorite photo. If you are needing a photo, I would be happy to set up a mini-session with that in mind.
Contact Lauren at crazydaisydzine@embarqmail.com for details.

Should I call this work or play?
I am loving these senior sessions : ) They are great with the outside the box thinking and it keeps me fresh. Maybe that is another reason that we will have a teen in our house for the next 16 years : ) (A) is as fun as she is beautiful. Thanks for the great morning but I hope you were not late for class!

a special thanks
I am long overdue in introducing my assistant and budding photographer, our daughter L. She has helped me for the last few months and it is to her that I was able to continue with jobs just 10 days after back surgery. She has done all the lifting, bending and carrying. After saving for her own Canon 40D from her summer job, she is now shooting with me too. The blessing of working with her is beyond what I could ever express or deserve. We have laughed a lot, learned a lot, and I will cherish these moments forever.

little lessons - worth their weight in gold
Sometimes I get stuck in the daily grind and to busy to notice the sweet innocence and wonder in our children. I am so thankful for the simple things they do that snap me back to the reality of just how blessed I am and the need to take time to stop and breathe in every moment with them. M does this to me quite often and yesterday was one of those times. She received a phone call from her dearest friend. I passed by my room to find her snuggled up in my bed with our well-worn copy of The Complete Tales of Beatrix Potter and the phone on speaker. It was the small voice of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle read in an English accent that captured my heart. She was reading it just as I had read it to her all those times. It was a mommy moment for me. The next time I am asked to stop and take a moment to read a story I hope I reflect back on this. It is not just that we stop and do it but how we do it that they remember. Thanks for the reminder M. I love you!
